Lufthansa to Introduce Airbus A380 Service to Miami

Lufthansa announced today that it will be the first airline to offer scheduled Airbus A380 service to Miami with daily flights between Frankfurt, Germany, and Miami beginning on June 10.

Lufthansa flight LH463 will leave Miami International Airport at 4:10 p.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 7:15 a.m. the following day; the return flight, LH462, will depart Frankfurt at 9:55 a.m. and arrive into Miami International Airport at 1:50 p.m.

The new flights are currently available for booking on Lufthansa.com, with roundtrip rates from Miami to Frankfurt priced from $614 per person, including taxes.

“We are extremely excited to introduce our new flagship Airbus A380 aircraft as the very first in the Miami market,” said Jens Bischof, vice president, the Americas, for Lufthansa. “I applaud Miami International Airport’s management team for their determination to become A380-ready. We share in their excitement and are both committed to Miami’s community of global travelers in both the business and leisure markets.”

“Lufthansa’s announcement of the A380 coming to Miami International Airport is a pinnacle moment we have eagerly anticipated for many years,” added Miami-Dade aviation director José Abreu. “We are honored to be one of the first U.S. airports that Lufthansa has chosen for A380 service, and we greatly look forward to welcoming the historic first flight from Frankfurt in June.”

Lufthansa has operated flights from Miami International Airport for more than 30 years. Going forward, Lufthansa also plans to reinstate its seasonal Miami to Düsseldorf flight, which will fly three times per week beginning in October. Daily flights between Miami and Düsseldorf will commence in November.
